Recent assignments have included a flagship appointment as advisers to Partnerships UK on its Provider Development Programme supporting nine pilot PCTs in connection with the separation of PCT provider functions from the rest of the PCT; acting for NHS London on the consultation in respect of the future of health services in the capital; and supporting several foundation trusts in connection with the acquisition of the business of other NHS trusts. The firm's projects group has a portfolio of completed and ongoing healthcare projects worth over £1.5bn including many PFI, ISTC and NHS LIFT schemes. The firm has also carried out a number of major urban redevelopment schemes for mixed uses including medipark, retail and residential uses.
Our clients in the private and voluntary sectors include Nuffield Hospitals, Ramsay Healthcare, Serco, Terrence Higgins Trust, Sue Ryder Care and United Response as well as private medical malpractice insurers.
Healthcare regulatory work is another of Capsticks' growth areas, with the firm acting for five out of the nine healthcare regulatory bodies in the UK in relation to fitness to practise cases and High Court appeals arising from those cases, as well as commercial, property and HR matters. In 2007, the firm was also appointed to the legal panel of the overarching body which regulates the healthcare regulators, the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence.
